My name is Barnaby Harward and I am an editor and language trainer at an EU agency in Warsaw, Poland. I work with people from all over Europe who are fluent English speakers, but continue to make mistakes in their writing. This blog contains materials which aim to combat these mistakes. If your English is already advanced but not quite perfect, this blog is for you.
Most of the content of this blog is designed for non-native English speakers from any country. But as I work in Poland I have particular experience of how Poles write in English. Some posts are therefore dedicated to specifically Polish issues. These can be found under the heading “Dla Polaków” – For Poles. However, I know that many of these mistakes are also made by native speakers of other Slavic languages, so if you come from Central-Eastern Europe, you might also find them useful.
If you cannot find what you are looking for on this blog, or have a question about a related issue, please get in touch and I’ll try to answer your query.
